NTA has release application form for JEE (main) – 2020, January attempt, on 3rd Sept 2019. Application form can be filled Online on official website jeemain.nic.in till 30th September. As we know, earlier JEE Main was conducted by CBSE, but from last year National Testing Agency (NTA) is controlling and conducting the whole JEE main exam process. Every year around 12 to 13 Lac students appear in JEE main exam to get admission to IITs, NITs, GFTIs, etc. JEE main is first step qualification exam to appear in JEE advance exam. This year NTA has made two major changes in JEE main Exam.

What’s the Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2020?
- Age Limit
- There is no age limit for the candidates to appear in JEE Main Exam.
- However, candidates should satisfy themselves about their fulfilling the age limit requirements of the Institutes in which they are desirous of taking admission.
- Year of Appearance in Qualifying Exam
- The candidates who have passed class 12th / equivalent examination in 2018, 2019 are eligible.
- Candidates who are appearing in 12th Exam in 2020 can appear in JEE (Main) examination – 2020.
- Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2017 or before are not eligible to appear in exam.
- As well as those who will appear in 12th examination in 2021 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)–2020.
- Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have at least 5 subjects in class 12 exam or equivalent exam.
- Candidates who have passed class 12th exam with Mathematics & Physics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biology are eligible.
What’s the Exam Pattern for JEE Main 2020?
JEE Main – 2020 exam will be consist of three papers as Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III. Paper-I will be for admissions to B.E./B.Tech and will be conducted online as CBT. Paper-II will for admissions to B.Arch courses. And Paper-III would be for admissions to B.Planning courses. The subject in each paper and mode of exam given bellow.

What’s Exam Time Schedule for JEE Main 2020?
JEE Main exam will be conducted in two shifts on each date of exam. Morning shift will be from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and afternoon shift will be from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm.
Date of Examination: Between 06.01.2020 (Monday) to 11.01.2020 (Saturday)
(Exact date, shift and city of examination for B.E./B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Planning will be made available on NTA’s website on 06.12.2019)

- Those candidates who wish to appear for B.Arch as well as B.Planning will have the duration of examination 3.30 hrs. i.e. from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Candidates are advised to report at the Examination Center well in time i.e. 2 hours before of commencement of the examination.
- In case a candidate, by furnishing the false information, appears in more than one shifts/dates, his candidature will be cancelled and his result will not be declared.

JEE Main 2020 – Application Process
Candidates have to apply for January JEE (Main)- 2020 “Online” ONLY by accessing the websites. www.nta.ac.in , www.nta.nic.in and www.jeemain.nta.nic.in. The Application Form other than online mode would not be accepted, in any case. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate. More than one application i.e. Multiple application forms submitted by a candidate will be rejected.
What you must be ready with before starting the filling of the online application form:
- A computer with good Internet connectivity
- All your qualification details
- Scanned clear passport photograph in JPG/JPEG format (size between 10 kb – 200 kb)
- Scanned clear signature in JPG/JPEG format (size between 4 kb – 30 kb)
- A valid e-mail Id as all communication will be made on this e-mail Id
- A valid mobile number as all information via SMS will be sent to this number
- A valid debit/credit card or Net banking account or UPI or PAYTM Service.
- A printer connected to your system to print confirmation page.

Online Application Steps
Follow following 4 (Four) Steps to Apply Online for the candidates who are appearing for January JEE(Main) –2020 Examination:
Step-1: Registration
- Visit the official JEE Main website : jeemain.nta.nic.in.
- Click on “New Registration” button.
- Enter the details, create PASSWORD and choose Security Question and enter his/her Answer. Click on submit.
- You will get Online Application Form. Note down system generated Application Number.
*This application number will also be used to fill the application form of April, 2020, if the candidates wish to apply for the same.
*For subsequent logins, candidate will be able to login directly with the respective system generated Application Number and created Password.
Step-2: Personal and Academic Details
- Login with system generated Application number and password.
- Enter all required personal and academic details.
- Click on “Proceed to Next” button.
Step-3: Uploading Photograph and Signature
- Upload scanned image of Photograph in JPG/JPEG format.
- Upload Scanned image of Signature in JPG/JPEG format.
Step-4: Payment of Fee
- Select Debit card/Credit card/Net banking/UPI/PAYTM option to pay the application fee.
- Follow the online instruction to complete the payment of fee.
- After successful payment, candidate will be able to print the Confirmation Page.
*In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee then the transaction is cancelled and the candidates have to approach the concerned bank for refund of amount. However the candidate has to make another payment/transaction, in case the Confirmation Page is not generated.

What are Exam Centers for JEE Main 2020?
NTA will release JEE Main 2020 exam centers where the JEE Main exam will be conducted. NTA will release a list of 264 examination centers among India and other foreign countries where the JEE Examination will be conducted. While filling up the JEE Main 2020 Application form, candidates will have a choice to choose 4 exam centers. After submitting the application form, the officials will allocate an exam centre among the four exam centers. Candidates will be able to take their JEE Main exam the exam centers as mentioned in the JEE Main 2020 Admit Card. Aspirants cannot change their JEE Main 2020 exam centre once it is allocated.

What’s the Syllabus for JEE Main 2020?
JEE Main 2020 Syllabus for all the papers is made available by NTA. The JEE Main syllabus is almost the same as the NCERT syllabus for class 11 and class 12. The JEE Main 2020 Syllabus for Paper I covers 3 main sections such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. While Paper II consists of 3 parts of Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Drawing and Paper III too comprise 3 parts of Mathematics, Aptitude Test, and Planning Based Questions.
